Al Hamra Tower

The Al Hamra Tower is a skyscraper in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is the tallest building in Kuwait. Work on this tower began in 2005 and it was finished in 2011.
Designed by the famous firms Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and Ramshir and Callison, the Al Hamra Tower has a beautiful curved shape made of concrete. It is the tallest building of its kind in the world. Today, it is the 40th tallest building in the world, standing 414 meters (1,358 feet) tall.
Description
The Al Hamra Tower has special glass on its sides that looks nice and keeps too much sunlight out. It also has tall walls at the corners and a big open space for people to enter.
There is a restaurant inside the tower called Francesca's. A company called Francis Landscapes designed the gardens around the building. The tower was chosen as one of the best new things made in 2011 by Time magazine.
Awards
Al Hamra Tower has won many awards for its design and building. In 2011, it won the Emporis Skyscraper Award. In 2010, it got the Cityscape award for Commercial / Mixed Use Built projects. In 2008, it received awards from the Chicago Athenaeum, like the American Architecture Award and the International Architecture Award. That same year, it also got the MIPIM Future Project Award for buildings. In 2007, it won a Bronze Unbuilt Project award at the Miami Architectural Bienal.
