Baphetes
Baphetes was an ancient four-legged animal that lived a very long time ago. Scientists found its fossils in places like Nova Scotia and the Czech Republic. This animal was first described by a scientist named Richard Owen in 1854.
One special name for this animal is B. planiceps. Later, scientists found that another species called B. lintonensis belonged to a different group called Loxomma. Studying animals like Baphetes helps us learn about life on Earth millions of years ago.
