Carina Vogt (born 5 February 1992) is a German former ski jumper. She was known for her impressive jumps and helped make the sport better during her career.

Ski jumping is an exciting winter sport. Athletes jump from high platforms and try to land as far as possible. Vogt took part in many competitions. She showed great skill and determination. After she stopped competing, she left a lasting mark on the sport.

Career

Carina Vogt made history by winning the first Olympic gold medal for women's ski jumping, at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. She began her international career in Meinerzhagen and joined the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup from 2006 to 2012. Her first appearance in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was in January 2012 in Hinterzarten. She won her first World Cup race on 18 January 2015 in Zaō, Japan.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, she won a bronze medal in the mixed normal hill event with teammates Ulrike Gräßler, Richard Freitag, and Severin Freund. Two years later, at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun, she won gold in the individual normal hill competition. With her German teammates Richard Freitag, Katharina Althaus, and Severin Freund, she also won gold in the mixed normal hill event. She repeated these wins at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti with teammates Markus Eisenbichler, Svenja Würth, and Andreas Wellinger.
