Cnemidopyge
Cnemidopyge is a group of ancient sea creatures called trilobites that lived during a time called the Ordovician. These tiny creatures had no eyes and had a special head part called a cephalon that was shaped like a triangle or half circle. This head had special spines sticking out, and a sharp spine in the middle.
What makes Cnemidopyge different from other similar trilobites is its body shape. It had a middle section called a thorax with exactly 6 segments, while others had different numbers or changing widths. The first segment of this middle part was also larger on the inside.
The back part of Cnemidopyge, called a pygidium, had many clear sections along its main body and sides. These special features help scientists tell Cnemidopyge apart from other trilobites that lived long ago.
