Death By Audio

Death By Audio was a special place inside a big building in Williamsburg, a part of Brooklyn, New York. It got its name from a cool company that makes music effects, also called Death By Audio. This company started in 2002 by Oliver Ackermann, who also leads a band called A Place to Bury Strangers.

The space was mostly used by artists and musicians to create and work on their projects. It also had a recording studio and a place to make music effects. Sometimes, it hosted fun music and art shows, and many famous bands and artists performed there. People enjoyed these shows and spoke well of them.

In 2007, part of the space began hosting underground music and art events. Well-known musicians like Ty Segall, Dirty Projectors, and Thurston Moore played there. In 2007, they also started their own record label, Death By Audio Records, to share music from the bands that practiced there.

Sadly, in 2014, a large company called Vice Media rented the building, and Death By Audio had to close. The last show was on November 22, 2014, with a band called Lightning Bolt. Later, in 2016, a film titled "Goodnight Brooklyn - The Story of Death by Audio" was made to remember this special place.
