Depigmentation
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Adventurer experience
Depigmentation is when the skin becomes lighter or loses its normal color. This can happen because of health problems. The skin might change just a little, like after an injury, or it might change a lot, as in a condition called vitiligo.
Sometimes, depigmentation is temporary. This can happen after a fungal infection called tinea versicolor. In other cases, it is permanent, such as in people born with albinism, where the skin has no pigment at all. Learning about depigmentation helps doctors and scientists find ways to manage these changes and help people who are affected.

Some people use special creams to help make their skin lighter. One cream has a substance called monobenzone. This can change skin color permanently. It may work well for people with a skin condition named vitiligo. When using these creams, it is important to protect skin from the sun.
Another product is mequinol. It can make skin very pale. In some countries, it is used to treat dark spots from the sun. However, it is not right for everyone. Other treatments, such as lasers or skin peels, can also help remove dark spots and keep skin looking light.
