Flag of Afghanistan

The national flag of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was adopted on 15 August 2021. It has a white background with a black Shahada written on it.

Afghanistan has had many different flags over the years. Most of these older flags used the colors black, red, and green.

There is also another version of Afghanistan's flag that is still used around the world. This one belongs to the internationally recognized Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
