Georgia at the 2014 Winter Olympics
Georgia joined the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, from February 7 to February 23, 2014. The team had four athletes who took part in two winter sports. There were also seven officials with the team to help the athletes.
Because of issues between Georgia and Russia after the August 2008 war, Georgia's government did not send any government officials. Only athletes and coaches went. Even with these challenges, the Georgian team came to represent their country at the games.
Flagbearer
At first, figure skater Elene Gedevanishvili was going to carry the flag for Georgia. But she would arrive late because of her training. So, alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri carried the flag instead.
Alpine skiing
