Henrik Selberg (17 February 1906 – 3 September 1993) was a Norwegian mathematician. He was born in Bergen, and he was the son of Ole Michael Ludvigsen Selberg and Anna Kristina Brigtsdatter Skeie. He had three brothers: Sigmund, Arne, and Atle Selberg.
Selberg became a professor at the University of Oslo from 1962 to 1973. There, he taught and did important research. His work helped shape the field of mathematics.
He is best known for his work on complex functions and potential theory. These areas help mathematicians understand how numbers and equations behave in more difficult situations. Selberg's ideas are still used and valued by mathematicians today.
