Korea Bay

Korea Bay, also called West Korea Bay, is part of the northern Yellow Sea. It lies between the southeastern coast of China and the western coast of North Korea. It touches the North Pyongan, South Pyongan, and South Hwanghae provinces.

The bay is separated from the Bohai Sea by the Liaodong Peninsula. The city of Dalian in China marks its western end. Ryongyon County in North Korea marks its eastern end.

Several important rivers flow into Korea Bay. The Yalu River forms much of the border between China and North Korea. It empties into the bay between the Chinese city of Dandong and the North Korean city of Sinŭiju. The Chongchon and Taedong Rivers also drain into the bay near Sinanju and Nampo.
