Main article: [LHS 292]

LHS 292 is a red dwarf star in the constellation Sextans. Because it is very dim, you need a large amateur telescope to see it. This star is very close to Earth, about 14.871 light-years away.

LHS 292 is a flare star. This means it can sometimes suddenly become much brighter for a short time. Scientists study stars like LHS 292 to learn more about small, cool stars and how they behave.

Astronomers also study how fast LHS 292 moves through space. Its space velocity is shown by three numbers: [U, V, W] = [28, โˆ’16, โˆ’14] km/s. These numbers help us understand its path and movement compared to the Sun.
