Massacre in the Black Forest

The Massacre in the Black Forest is a 1967 historical drama film about an important event from long ago. It takes place near the edge of the Roman Empire in a place called Germania, which is now part of Lower Saxony. The story focuses on a leader named Arminius, who belonged to the Cherusci tribe.

In the year A.D. 9, Arminius tricked three whole Roman legions and led them into a hidden trap in the dense Teutoburg Forest. This event, called the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, became very important in history because it changed how the Romans and the local tribes interacted. The film shows this dramatic moment from the past.

Cast

The film has many actors in important roles. Hans von Borsody plays Arminius, a leader of a Germanic tribe. Antonella Lualdi acts as Thusnelda, a key character. Other actors include Cameron Mitchell as Consul Aulus Caecina and Beba Lončar as Livia, who is with Aulus Caecina.
