Mpadə
Mpadə is an Afro-Asiatic language. People speak it in northern Cameroon and southwestern Chad.
It has several dialects. These include Bodo, Biamo, Digam, Mpade (Makari), Shoe (Shewe), and Woulki.
The language is sometimes called Makari. This name comes from a town where people speak it. A place called Ngala, further west, once had a similar dialect. But by the 1920s, most people there spoke a different language called Kanuri.
Distribution
The Mpade language is spoken in northern Cameroon, near Lake Chad and around the town of Makari. It is also used in parts of Fotokol, Hilé Alifa, and Goulfey. People speak Mpade in nearby areas of Chad and Nigeria.
