Athletes from the Netherlands joined the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The Olympics is a big event where athletes from many countries compete in sports like running, swimming, and gymnastics.

Athletes from the Netherlands won silver medals at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland.
Bertha Brouwer won silver in Athletics for the Women's 200 metres. A team won silver in Field Hockey for the Men's Team Competition. Hannie Termeulen won silver in Swimming for the Women's 100m Freestyle, and Geertje Wielema won silver in Swimming for the Women's 100m Backstroke. Finally, a team of swimmers won silver in the Women's 4 Γ 100 m Freestyle Relay.

Dutch boxers took part in several weight classes. Hein van der Zee lost his first match. Piet van Klaveren won one match but lost the next. Moos Linneman won two matches before losing. Leen Jansen had a break in the first round, then won one match but lost later. Toon Pastor won his first match but lost the next.

Road Competition
Dutch cyclists joined the Men's Individual Road Race. Arend van 't Hoft came 10th, Jan Plantaz came 22nd, Adrie Voorting came 49th, and Jules Maenen did not finish.
Track Competition
Johan Hijzelendoorn placed 8th in the Men's 1.000m Time Trial and 9th in the Men's 1.000m Sprint Scratch Race. The team of Adrie Voorting, Daan de Groot, Jan Plantaz, and Jules Maenen was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Men's 4.000m Team Pursuit.

Water Polo
Men's Team Competition
The Dutch water polo team won against the Soviet Union, Argentina, Sweden, and Yugoslavia in early rounds. After a replayed match, they tied with Hungary and defeated the Soviet Union again. They then defeated Belgium and Spain, finishing in fifth place. The team included Gerrit Bijlsma, Cor Braasem, Joop Cabout, Ruud van Feggelen, Max van Gelder, Nijs Korevaar, and Frits Smol.
