People's Khural of Kalmykia

The People's Khural (Parliament) of the Republic of Kalmykia is the regional parliament of Kalmykia, a federal subject of Russia. It has 27 deputies who are elected to serve for five years. They help make important decisions for the people of Kalmykia.
History
The People's Khural started in 1994. It follows rules from Russia's Constitution and traditions from Mongolia and the State Great Khural. People vote for leaders every five years.
The first leaders were chosen on October 18, 1994. More leaders were chosen in 1999, 2005, and 2008. In 2008, the group had 27 leaders: 17 from United Russia, seven from the Communist Party, and three from the Agrarian Party of Russia. Their time ended in 2013, and new elections happened. Today, the leader is Artyom Mikhailov from United Russia.

The People’s Khural of Kalmykia had an election in 2018. People in Kalmykia voted to choose their leaders.
2023
In 2023, there was another election for the People’s Khural of Kalmykia. Again, people voted to pick their leaders.
