Pew Research Center

The Pew Research Center (also simply known as Pew) is a nonpartisan American think tank based in Washington, D.C.. It gives people information about important social issues, what people think, and how groups of people are changing in the United States and around the world.
Pew does many kinds of research, like asking people questions to learn what they think and studying groups of people. This helps us understand better how society is changing.
The Pew Research Center says it does not take sides on political issues. It is part of the Pew Charitable Trusts and works with groups that want to make sure research about public opinion is done clearly and honestly.
History
In 1990, the Times Mirror Company started a research project called the Times Mirror Center for the People & the Press. It did polls about politics and policies. In 1996, the Pew Charitable Trusts became its main sponsor and renamed it the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.
Later, in 2004, the Pew Research Center was established in Washington, D.C.. Over the years, different leaders have helped the center grow and share useful information with people around the world.
Funding
The Pew Research Center is a nonprofit group. It mostly gets its money from the Pew Charitable Trusts. For some studies about religions around the world, it also gets funding from the Templeton Foundation.
Research topics
The Pew Research Center studies many important topics to help us understand society and the world. Their research covers areas like U.S. politics, international affairs, immigration, race and ethnicity, religion, age groups, gender views, family life, the economy, science, technology, news and media, research methods, and information about different regions and countries.
