The scapulocoracoid is a part of the pectoral girdle. It has two important bones: the coracoid and the scapula. The coracoid is a beak-shaped bone found in many animals. The scapula is the bone we call the shoulder blade.

The humerus, the upper arm bone, connects to the body through the scapula. The clavicle, or collarbone, links to the breastbone, the sternum, with help from the scapula.

In Therian mammals, like humans and many other animals, the scapulocoracoid is not present. This shows how animals have different ways to build their bodies for moving and working.
