Sepang District

The Sepang District is a district in the southern part of the state of Selangor in Malaysia. It covers an area of around 600 square kilometers.
Sepang is well known for the township of Cyberjaya, often called the Silicon Valley of Malaysia because of its connection to MSC Malaysia. The capital of Sepang District is Salak Tinggi.
Many other places are also part of this district, including parts of Puchong such as Bukit Puchong 2 and Sierra, as well as areas like Pulau Meranti, Bandar Nusaputra, and several Taman neighborhoods. Some areas of Kajang, like Kampung Sungai Merab and Desa Pinggiran Putra, are also located in the northeast of Sepang District.
History
Sepang district was created from parts of nearby areas called Hulu Langat (Kajang) and Kuala Langat on January 1, 1975. Before that, there was a place called Sepang in parliament starting in 1959. In 2005, Sepang became a municipality.
Geography
Sepang district is in the south of Selangor. It borders Kuala Langat to the west, Petaling to the north, Hulu Langat to the northeast, and the state of Negeri Sembilan to the east. Sepang also surrounds Putrajaya, which is a Federal Territory.

Demographics

Economy
Many important airline companies have their main offices at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang. These include Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, AirAsia X, MASkargo, and Malaysia Airports.
The area around the airport, called KLIA Aeropolis, is being built to become a center for airplane-related work, cargo, air travel planning, and sports tourism by 2035. There are plans for special zones for free trade and digital business, and an area for new kinds of flying vehicles called an Aviation Park.
The animation studio Animonsta Studios is based in the town of Cyberjaya.
Tourist attractions
Sepang District has some fun places to visit. You can watch car races at the Sepang International Circuit. Bagan Lalang Beach is a nice spot for sun and sand. Avani Sepang Gold Coast is a good place to stay. Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA is great for shopping. IOI City Mall has many stores and things to see.

Air
Sepang District has the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Railways
Sepang District has several train services. These include:
- KLIA Transit which connects KLIA Terminal 2 to KLIA Terminal 1 and Salak Tinggi.
- KLIA Ekspres which connects KLIA Terminal 2 to KLIA Terminal 1.
- Putrajaya Line which connects 16 Sierra to Cyberjaya Utara and Cyberjaya City Centre.
Bus
The main bus service in Sepang District is provided by Smart Selangor, operated by Handal Ceria and SKS-BUS. These buses are free and connect places like Taman Seroja, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Salak Tinggi ERL station, Cyberjaya, Sungai Merab, and IOI City Mall. They also serve Tanjung Sepat to KLIA.
Other bus services include:
- Causeway Link bus route 601 connecting Kuala Lumpur to Taman Putra Perdana.
- KR Travel & Tours bus route T 523 connecting Putrajaya Sentral, KTM Serdang, or Kuala Lumpur to IOI City Mall.
- Rapid KL operates five bus routes in Sepang District, including one LRT Feeder bus route T603 from Puchong Prima LRT station to Taman Mas Sepang, and four MRT Putrajaya line feeder bus routes T504, T505, T506, and T507 serving Cyberjaya areas.
