Short-track speed skating at the Winter Olympics

Short-track speed skating has been part of the Winter Olympics since the 1992 games in Albertville, France. Before that, it was shown as a demonstration sport at the 1988 games, but those results are not counted.

South Korea has done very well in this sport, winning many medals since it became official.

At the 2010 Winter Olympics, a skater named Haralds Silovs from Latvia did something no one had done before. He raced in both short track and long track speed skating on the same day.

In 2018, the International Olympic Committee added a new race called the mixed relay. In this race, teams of men and women race together. This change made the short-track events last six days instead of five.
