The Telychian is a time period in Earth's history. It was part of the early Silurian Period, which happened long ago. The Telychian came after the Aeronian Age and before the Sheinwoodian Age. Scientists use names like Telychian to help organize Earth's past.

This age got its name from a place called Pen-lan-Telych Farm near Llandovery in Wales. The Telychian lasted from about 438.6 million years ago to about 432.9 million years ago. During this time, many things in nature were changing.

The Telychian ended with an event known as the Ireviken event, which brought changes to the world. Studying these times helps us learn about how Earth and life have developed.
