Wang Yifu

Wang Yifu (Chinese: 王义夫; pinyin: Wáng Yìfū, born 4 December 1960) is a male Chinese pistol shooter.

He is one of the most successful sport shooters in Olympic history. He earned six individual Olympic medals, and he was the first shooter ever to do this.

Wang Yifu specializes in the 50 m Pistol and 10 m Air Pistol events. He made history by winning two gold medals in the men’s 10 metre air pistol, showing great skill and consistency over many years.

His achievements have inspired many young athletes around the world.

Life and career

Wang Yifu was born on 4 December 1960 in Liaoyang, Liaoning. He started winning Olympic medals when he was 23 years old, at the Los Angeles games. He became well-known for shooting in the 10 metre air pistol and 50 metre pistol events.

Wang won many medals over the years, including gold medals in 1992 and 2004. Sometimes, he almost won but missed by a very small amount. Even in these tough moments, he kept trying and did very well in shooting competitions around the world. He is married to another shooter, Zhang Qiuping.
