Washington Township is one of the fourteen townships in Auglaize County, Ohio, United States. It is a small community. About 1,944 people lived there, according to the 2020 census.

Geography
Washington Township is in the southern part of Auglaize County, Ohio. It borders several other townships. To the north is Moulton Township. To the east is Pusheta Township. To the west is Saint Marys Township. The village of New Knoxville is in the southwestern part of the township.
The township covers an area of 31.1 square miles (80.5 km2), based on information from the U.S. Census Bureau.
Name and history
Washington Township is one of forty-three Washington Townships statewide. It used to be part of Allen County but is now in Auglaize County. The township was created in 1836.
Government
Washington Township is led by a three-member board of trustees. The voters choose these trustees in November in odd-numbered years. Their four-year terms start on January 1 the next year. Two trustees are elected in the year after a presidential election, and one is elected in the year before. There is also a township fiscal officer. This officer is elected to a four-year term that starts on April 1 after the election in November before a presidential election. If a seat becomes empty, the remaining trustees choose a replacement.
Public services
Washington Township is divided into three school districts. They are the Wapakoneta City School District, the Saint Marys City School District, and the New Knoxville Local School District.
Parts of the township use four different post offices. The northwestern part uses the Saint Marys post office. The northeastern part uses Wapakoneta. The southern part uses New Knoxville. The far southeastern part uses the Botkins post office.
