Western Oregon

Western Oregon is a part of the U.S. state of Oregon. It usually means the area within 120 miles (190 km) of the state's coastal region, on the west side of the Cascade Range. Sometimes people use the term to talk only about the areas west of the Cascades and north of Lane County, leaving out the southwest.

This part of Oregon is about the same size as New England if you take away Maine. The weather here is different from Eastern Oregon. Instead of being dry, Western Oregon has a moderate Mediterranean climate, which means it has mild, wet winters and dry, cool summers.
