Carina Vogt

Carina Vogt (born 5 February 1992) is a German former ski jumper. She was known for her impressive jumps and contributed to the sport during her career. Ski jumping is an exciting winter sport where athletes jump from high platforms and try to land as far as possible. Vogt represented her country in many competitions, showing great skill and determination. After retiring from competition, she left a lasting mark on the sport.

Career

Carina Vogt made history by winning the very first Olympic gold medal for women's ski jumping, at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. She began her international career in Meinerzhagen and took part in the FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup from 2006 to 2012. Her first appearance in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup was in January 2012 in Hinterzarten. She claimed her first World Cup win on 18 January 2015 in Zaō, Japan.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, she earned a bronze medal in the mixed normal hill event with teammates Ulrike Gräßler, Richard Freitag, and Severin Freund. Two years later, at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun, she won gold in the individual normal hill competition. Along with her German teammates Richard Freitag, Katharina Althaus, and Severin Freund, she also took gold in the mixed normal hill event. She repeated these victories at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti with her teammates Markus Eisenbichler, Svenja Würth, and Andreas Wellinger.
