Charles III, born Charles Philip Arthur George on 14 November 1948, is the King of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms. He is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Charles became the heir to the throne when his mother became queen in 1952. He was named Prince of Wales in 1958, a special title for the future king.
Charles was educated at several schools and later studied history at the University of Cambridge. He also served in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy. In 1981, he married Lady Diana Spencer, and they had two sons, William and Harry. After their divorce in 1996, Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles in 2005.
As heir to the throne, Charles worked hard on many projects to help people. He started the Prince's Trust in 1976 to support young people and helped many charities.
