Greater La Serena is a big city area in Chile, made up of the towns Coquimbo and La Serena in the Coquimbo Region. It is the fourth largest city area in Chile, with a population of 412,845 people, based on information from 2012. Many more people now live there because the area has grown a lot over the past 20 years.

The growth is mostly because of more jobs and people visiting as tourists, especially in the town of La Serena. The area has places where people work in factories and at the port, as well as beautiful beaches that attract visitors. These beaches are one of the main reasons why so many people come to enjoy the area.
