Hanno (crater)

Hanno is an impact crater on the Moon, located near the southeastern edge, close to the western side of a dark area called Mare Australe. Nearby, you can find another big crater named Pontécoulant.
This crater has been hit many times by smaller space rocks, making its edges rough and its inside mostly flat with just a few tiny craters scattered around.
The crater Hanno was named after Hanno the Navigator, an explorer from ancient times.
