Karim Alexander Adiprasito, born in 1988, is a German mathematician known for his important work in combinatorics. He studies shapes and patterns in mathematics, helping solve problems that have been around for a very long time. After finishing his studies at the Free University Berlin in 2013, he has worked at many famous universities around the world.
Adiprasito has received several big awards for his clever ideas. In 2015, he won the European Prize in Combinatorics for solving tough questions about special shapes called polytopes. In 2019, he shared a special prize called the New Horizons Prize with another mathematician, June Huh, for their joint work.
One of his biggest achievements was proving a famous guess called the g-conjecture in 2018. This guess had been a puzzle for mathematicians for many years. His work helps us understand more about how shapes can be built and what rules they follow. Today, he works as a Directeur de Recherche with the CNRS at Sorbonne University, continuing to explore exciting questions in mathematics.
