Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week is a big event that happens every August in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. It lasts for about five days and is full of exciting shows where new clothes are presented. This event brings together designers, buyers, reporters, and the public to see the latest fashion.

The event started in 2013 to give Malaysian designers a chance to show their ready-to-wear collections. It aims to show how creative and strong Malaysia's fashion industry is, both to people in the country and around the world. Each year, more than 150,000 people come to see the shows at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Only special guests, like journalists, bloggers, and buyers, can attend Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week. They get special passes from the organizers or the fashion brands. Every year, organizers pick five main brands to show their new designs, along with other talented designers. This gives everyone a first look at brand-new clothes that have never been seen before.

History

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week was started by Mr. Andrew Tan after he was invited to an event at Buckingham Palace in London. This event was part of the Commonwealth Fashion Exchange, which helps new designers show their work to the world. With support from Tourism Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week has grown and traveled around the globe. The event focuses on ready-to-wear fashion, meaning clothes designed to be sold right away. After the fashion week, many of the designs become available in stores for people to buy.
