The Leipzig Botanical Garden is a beautiful and important place for plants, located in Leipzig, Germany. Managed by the University of Leipzig, it is the oldest botanical garden in Germany and one of the oldest in the world. Spanning 3.5 hectares, it is open every day and free to visit.

The garden's history goes back to 1542, just after the university was reformed in 1539. It has moved several times over the centuries. Today, it contains around 7,000 different species of plants, including special collections and areas that show plants from many parts of the world.

After being destroyed during World War II, the garden was rebuilt and renovated. Now it includes greenhouses with plants from warm and tropical regions, as well as outdoor areas featuring plants from steppes, forests, prairies, and alpine regions. The garden is a wonderful place to explore nature and learn about plants from around the globe.
