Illustration of a trilobite, an ancient marine creature from Earth's past.

Lichakephalina was an ancient group of small sea creatures that lived long ago. It belongs to a special class of animals called trilobites, which were common in the oceans many millions of years before dinosaurs even existed. These creatures had hard shells and usually had three main parts to their bodies, making them interesting to scientists who study very old life on Earth.

Lichakephalina lived during a time called the Arenig stage, which was part of the Ordovician Period. This was about 478 to 471 million years ago, a very long time before humans or any modern animals were around. Like other trilobites, Lichakephalina was a marine animal, meaning it lived in the sea.

Trilobites, including Lichakephalina, help scientists understand what the ancient oceans were like and how life has changed over huge periods of time. Even though these creatures are now extinct, their fossils give us clues about Earth’s past.
