The Luzhniki Olympic Complex is one of the biggest multifunctional sports complexes in the world. Built in 1955 and 1956, it is located in the Khamovniki district of Moscow, Russia. Formerly known as the Central Lenin Complex, it served as the Olympic Park for the 1980 Summer Olympics.
The complex can be reached by the Moscow Metro train, when leaving either Sportivnaya, Vorobyovy Gory or Luzhniki.
Venues
The Luzhniki Olympic Complex has several important places where people can play sports and hold big events. These include the Grand Sports Arena, also known as Luzhniki Stadium, the Luzhniki Palace of Sports, the Luzhniki Small Sports Arena, the Olympic Pool, the Druzhba Multipurpose Arena, and the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace.
