Adapted from Wikipedia · Discoverer experience
Maros is a town in the South Sulawesi province of Indonesia, close to the big city of Makassar. It is the main town of the Maros Regency area.
The town is home to the Indonesian Cereals Research Institute, which helps improve farming for crops like rice.
In 2012, a big company called PT Semen Bosowa Maros started building a new clinker plant in Maros. This plant cost more than $300 million and was meant to make more cement for building projects in the area.
One of the fun places to visit in Maros is the Maros Water Park, where people can enjoy swimming and water activities.
Rock art in caves
Near Maros, in the Maros Regency north of Makassar, you can find the Pettakere cave and other prehistoric caves. These caves have important rock drawings that are very old and interesting for scientists studying the past.
