The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a special kind of car made by Mercedes-Benz. It is a battery electric vehicle, which means it runs on electricity instead of fuel. This car is known as a compact luxury crossover SUV, making it both stylish and practical for everyday use.

The EQC was produced from 2019 to 2023, and it was the first car in the Mercedes EQ family, a group of electric vehicles made by Mercedes-Benz. Even though production stopped in 2023, people only found out about it in 2024. This car is important because it shows how car companies are trying new ways to make vehicles that are better for the environment.

History

The EQC is based on a special car shown at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The real version was first seen in Sweden on September 4, 2018, and later shown at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Making of the EQC stopped in the latter part of 2023.

Design

The EQC is built like the GLC and has the same size wheels. It is a car that fits five people and has enough space in the back for 500 litres of things.

The EQC400 4Matic uses two electric motors, one on the front and one on the back, making 300 kW (402 hp). It can go up to 180 km/h (112 mph). It has a big battery pack made of 384 lithium-ion cells that can get most of its power back in just 40 minutes with a fast charger. Drivers can choose how much power to use when braking using special buttons on the steering wheel.

Equipment

The Mercedes-Benz EQC comes with standard features like 19-inch alloy wheels and automatic collision avoidance. It has two large 10.25-inch screens for showing important information and for entertainment. All models include the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system, which you can talk to by saying "Hey Mercedes." This system can show details about charging and energy use. The navigation system can plan routes to include charging stations based on how much charge is left, and it can also help find places using a special method called what3words.
