Paul Marsh (politician)

Paul Marsh is an American mining executive and politician. He served as the 12th Arizona State Mine Inspector. Governor Doug Ducey appointed Marsh to this role in October 2021 after Joe Hart resigned.

Marsh belonged to the Republican Party and later ran for a full term in the 2022 Arizona elections. On November 8, 2022, Marsh won the Mine Inspector election without any opponents. He held this position until he resigned on August 15, 2025.

Early life and education

Paul Marsh grew up near Metro Phoenix. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve from June 1990 to June 1997. In 2011, he began working in the cement industry for CalPortland Company.

Mine Inspector of Arizona

Paul Marsh became the Mine Inspector of Arizona when Governor Doug Ducey chose him in October 2021. He was picking up the job after Joe Hart left. Marsh later ran for the job officially and won without any opponents.

Marsh left the position on August 15, 2025, after moving to Texas for a new job. But the office didn’t tell people about his leaving until a month later, when Governor Katie Hobbs picked Les Presmyk to take his place.
