Ras Al-Ein area

Ras al-Ein is one of the 22 administrative areas in the city of Amman, Jordan. It is governed by the Greater Amman Municipality. The neighborhood has a special mix of old and new. It includes the grand Roman Amphitheatre along with busy local markets and new cultural projects and institutions. This blend of history and modern life makes Ras al-Ein a unique part of Amman.
Location
Ras al-Ein is one of the areas in Amman, Jordan. Its streets mark its borders: Ali Ben Abi Taleb Street to the north, As-Sakhrah Al-Musharrafah Street to the south, Al-Quds Street to the west, and Price Hassan Street to the east. Sometimes people talk about Ras al-Ein in a broader way, including places just outside these borders, like Ras Al Ein Park.
Ras al-Ein is part of a bigger area called Qasabah Amman. This area also includes places such as Al-Abdali, Al-Madinah, Al-Yarmuk, Bader, and Zahran.
Demographics
In 2015, Ras al-Ein had a population of 138,024 people living in 28,474 households. The district covers a small area of 6.79 km², making it quite crowded with a population density of 20,377 people per square kilometer.
Features
Ras Al-Ein is an important area in the city of Amman, Jordan. It has a spring that helps provide water to the city. The area is also a key spot for transportation, with Amman's South Bus Station located here. Plans are in place to improve bus travel in the area.
The Ras Al Ein Park opened in 2017 and includes playgrounds, a bicycle track, and paths for walking. The area is known for its cultural sites, such as the Ras Al Ain Gallery and Hangar, the Jordan Museum, and the National Music Conservatory.
Amman's Friday Market, which sells second-hand clothing and shoes, moved to Ras Al-Ein in 2014 from another part of the city.
