Seychelles first joined the Olympic Games in 1980 and has sent athletes to every Summer Olympic Games since then, except for the 1988 Games when they did not respond to the invitation from the IOC. Seychelles has never taken part in the Winter Olympic Games.
Up to now, no athlete from Seychelles has won an Olympic medal. The National Olympic Committee for Seychelles was created in 1979 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee the same year.
