A Special Place in the Sea
Cap de Creus is a beautiful and special peninsula at the far northeast of Catalonia. It is the very easternmost point of Spain and the whole Iberian Peninsula. Imagine a rocky land that sticks out into the blue sea — that is Cap de Creus!
The area around Cap de Creus is a Natural Park full of amazing views. You can see tall mountains, clear blue water, and many small creeks where boats can rest. The land is dry and rocky, which makes it look very different from places with lots of trees.
Home to Artists and Legends
Nearby is a lovely village called Cadaqués. Many famous artists and writers love to visit this place. The nearest big town is Figueres, where the world-known artist Salvador Dalí was born.
There is also an old monastery named Sant Pere de Rodes from the year 1100. It sits high on a hill and gives wonderful views of the land and sea. An old story says a strong hero named Hercules helped shape the cape long, long ago.
A Place for Learning
Cap de Creus is also very important for scientists. The rocks here show how Earth changes over millions of years. It is one of the best places in the world to see these special patterns in the stones.
