Welcome to Chad!

Chad is a big country in the middle of Africa. It is landlocked, meaning it does not touch the ocean. Chad shares borders with Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Niger. It is the fifth-largest country in Africa!

A Place of Many People

Chad has about 19 million people. The capital city is N'Djamena, which is also the largest city. People in Chad speak many languages, but French and Arabic are the official languages. Many people practice Islam and Christianity.

Nature and Weather

Chad has very different landscapes. In the north, there is a hot and dry desert. In the south, there are green grasses and rivers. Lake Chad is a big water body that changes size with the seasons. It is home to many birds and fish.
