Cortina d'Ampezzo

Cortina d'Ampezzo is a pretty town in the Veneto part of Northern Italy. It sits in a valley among the beautiful Dolomitic Alps, near the Boite river.
People love to visit Cortina for its snowy winters. The town is great for skiing and other fun snow activities.
Cortina has a long history. Many different groups ruled it over time, like the Republic of Venice and the Habsburg leaders. Today, it is part of Italy.
The town is also known for hosting the Winter Olympics in 1956. Soon, it will host the Winter Olympics again in 2026 together with Milan. Visitors can see lovely places like the Basilica Minore dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo and the Rinaldo Zardini Palaeontology Museum.
Cortina’s mountains are full of interesting animals, such as marmots and deer. The town has cozy shops and many places to stay, making it a favorite spot for families and friends to enjoy together.
