Cross-country skiing is a fun winter sport where people race on snowy trails. It has been part of the Winter Olympic Games since the very first one in 1924, held in Chamonix, France. Athletes from many countries join in to race across the snow.

These races test both strength and skill. Skiers move quickly over long distances, which makes it exciting to watch. Women started competing in these races in 1952, and since then, many new records have been set.

Norway is very good at cross-country skiing. They have won the most gold medals in the Winter Olympics for this sport. Other countries like Sweden, Finland, and Russia are also great at it. Everyone loves to see the fast and exciting races at the Winter Olympics.
