Denver was started in 1858 during a time when people were looking for gold. It was named after James W. Denver, who was an important leader from Kansas. People call Denver the "Mile High City" because it is exactly one mile above sea level.

Today, Denver is a busy place with many things to see and do. You can visit museums like the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. The city has sports teams that many people cheer for. Denver is also a place where many companies have their offices.

Denver has many parks where families can spend time outside. The city is close to the Rocky Mountains, which are great for hiking and other outdoor fun. People also enjoy the many restaurants and shops in Denver.

Denver’s weather changes with the seasons. It can be warm and sunny in summer and cold with snow in winter. This makes it a fun place to live and visit all year long.

Denver is a wonderful city with a rich history and lots of activities for everyone to enjoy.
