Gymnastics at the Summer Olympics
Gymnastics has been a part of the Summer Olympics since the very first games in Athens in 1896. At first, only men could compete, but things changed in 1928 when women joined in artistic gymnastics.
Over the years, more types of gymnastics have been added. Rhythmic gymnastics came to the Olympics in 1984 in Los Angeles, and trampoline made its debut in 2000 in Sydney.
Today, gymnastics at the Olympics include many different styles. Athletes show their strength, flexibility, balance, and skill. It is one of the most popular sports in the games.
Gymnastics events test athletes in many ways. They must be strong, flexible, and very skilled. The games have grown to include many countries and many different types of gymnastics.
The sport has a long history in the Olympics, and many countries have taken part. It remains a favorite to watch because of the amazing skills shown by the athletes.
