Harare started in 1890 and was first called Fort Salisbury. In 1982, it was renamed Harare after a nearby village. Today, it is an important place for commerce, government, education, and culture. You can find many schools, hospitals, and shops here.

Harare has many interesting spots. The National Gallery of Zimbabwe shows beautiful stone sculptures made by local artists. The Chapungu Sculpture Park is another fun place to visit.
