Herodotus
Adapted from Wikipedia ยท Explorer experience
Herodotus was a Greek writer who loved to learn about the world. He lived a long time ago, from about 484 to 425 BC. He was born in a place called Halicarnassus, which today is part of Turkey.
Herodotus wrote a big book called Histories. In it, he told stories about many lands and people. He traveled to places like Egypt, Babylon, and Athens. He shared his stories with others, even speaking at big games called the Olympic Games.
People call Herodotus โThe Father of Historyโ because he was one of the first to write down what happened in the past. His book helps us learn about life and places from long ago. Even though some of his stories might sound strange, his work is very important to historians today.
