The Magical Kunlun Mountains

The Kunlun Mountains are one of the longest mountain chains in Asia. They stretch for more than 3,000 kilometres (1,900 mi) and form the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. People in China call them the "Forefather of Mountains."

These tall mountains are found in Western China, south of the Tarim Basin. They are a special place in old stories and myths. Many people thought the Kunlun Mountains were like a magical paradise, close to where the Yellow River begins.

Long ago, the Kunlun Mountains were part of wonderful tales about gods and heroes. They were seen as a beautiful link between the earth and the sky. Even today, these mountains are remembered for their magic and mystery.
