Welcome to Lesotho!

Lesotho is a special little country in Southern Africa. It is completely surrounded by South Africa, making it one of the few places in the world where a country is inside another country!

Lesotho is known for its tall mountains. The land is so high that even the lowest point in Lesotho is higher than any other country on Earth! This makes Lesotho very cool and sometimes very cold, with snow in the winter.

The people of Lesotho are called Basotho. Their leaders have a special king, Letsie III, who helps guide the country. The biggest city is Maseru, where many people live and work.

Lesotho loves its traditions. One famous part of their culture is the beautiful Basotho blanket. Women wear these colorful blankets with pride. They also enjoy playing football, which is the most popular sport there.

Lesotho is a place of high hills, friendly people, and rich traditions. It’s a wonderful part of the world to learn about!
