Luxembourg City

Luxembourg City is the capital of Luxembourg. It is the largest city in the country. It sits where the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers meet, in the south of Western Europe. The city is close to big cities like Brussels and Cologne.

Luxembourg City has a long history. It began with Luxembourg Castle, built by the Franks a long time ago. Today, the city is home to many people from all over the world. Almost 70% of the people living there were born in other countries.

The city is very important for Europe. It is one of the main capitals of the European Union. It hosts many key institutions and agencies. Luxembourg City is also known for being very safe and having a high quality of living. It has one of the highest incomes in the world.

Luxembourg City is built on high cliffs. These cliffs drop down to the narrow valleys of the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers. Many bridges cross these valleys. Some famous ones are the Adolphe Bridge, the Grand Duchess Charlotte Bridge, and the Passerelle. The city has many levels, with hills and drops into the rivers.

The city has many interesting places to visit. You can see old walls, museums, theaters, and beautiful squares. One special place is the Old City of Luxembourg, protected by UNESCO. There are also many restaurants where you can try delicious food.

Luxembourg City is easy to get to. It has highways, trains, buses, and trams. The city also has an airport, Luxembourg Airport, where you can fly to many places around the world. Public transport in the city is free, making it easy to explore.
