North Africa
North Africa is the northern part of the African continent. It stretches from the Atlantic shores of the Western Sahara in the west to Egypt and Sudan’s Red Sea coast in the east.
The main countries in North Africa are Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, and Western Sahara. Some groups also include Sudan and Mauritania.
People in North Africa have lived there for thousands of years. The Berbers are one of the oldest groups. Later, people from the Arabian Peninsula moved in, bringing new traditions. Today, most people speak Arabic and follow Islam.
North Africa has many interesting places. The Sahara desert is the largest sand desert in the world. The Atlas Mountains have tall peaks, and the Nile River is very important for Egypt.
People in North Africa enjoy many fun traditions. They have colorful markets, tasty food like couscous, and beautiful music. Places like the old city of Ait Benhaddou in Morocco show how people lived long ago.
North Africa is a special part of the world with a rich history and many friendly people.
