The Northern Hemisphere

The Northern Hemisphere is the top half of our planet, Earth. It is everything north of the equator. This part of the world holds most of the land where people live.

Many big countries are in the Northern Hemisphere. You can find places like China, Russia, and the United States here. The Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean also stretch into this area.

The Northern Hemisphere has changing seasons because Earth tilts on its axis. We enjoy warm summers and cold winters, with spring and autumn in between. Near the top, close to the Arctic Circle, it can get very cold. In summer, the sun stays up for many hours, and in winter, it may not rise at all for days!

This half of our world is special because it has more land and fewer oceans than the Southern Hemisphere. The way air and water move here helps create the weather we experience every day.
